Home Faculty life Supplementary educational activities Study visit to the NATO Headquarters in Brussels. Since 2005/6 an annual study visit to the NATO Headquarters in Brussels has been organised for students enrolled in the Faculty of Political Sciences - and now also Political and Social Sciences - upon the initiative of the History of Treaties and International Politics course tutor Prof. Massimo de Leonardis. The two-day visit with accommodation, air travel, bus transfers to Brussels and lunch at the organization’s headquarters is almost completely subsidised by NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division. At the NATO headquarters students take part in a series of briefings, in English and Italian, held by officials on various aspects of the Atlantic Alliance's activities and perspectives. They also receive information brochures and detailed information on internships and placement opportunities within the organisation. An average of twenty and thirty students normally attend, accompanied by some professors, researchers and doctoral students. Leggi di piùNaturally, the Faculty combines knowledge-led instruction with innovation along with the rigorous training of upcoming researchers and teachers to foster new cultural and professional outcomes. Sectors such as publishing and cultural heritage promotion demonstrate how humanities and the new frontiers of technology &; communication are no longer distant and parallel worlds. A broad and solid syllabus, vast knowledge and culture, plus, a historical perspective are the requisites for facing such challenges. Specialising master programmes hone specific professional skills both through the syllabus and the course-related internships. The Faculty of Arts and Philosophy at Cattolica faces this challenge in two ways: with the academic rigor deriving from a long history of humanistic studies and the great schools of thought: archaeology, papyrology, glottology, philology, philosophy, history and the history of literature to name just a few.
